Ignacio: Woops on the 2MP thing. My bad.

“Exceptionally high quality” was definitely hasty on my part. The apps look great and possess all the interactive elements an iPhone app should have, but most are too full of bugs to be practical.

But my rationalization is valid. Most native apps are crap. It takes more engineering and quality assurance to build a web app people will accept and use.

But I never said it was ok for Apple to break third party apps. :P

"2 MegaPixels (1280×720 resolution)"

Actually, 2MP = 1600x1200

"The selection of third-party applications, which are developed with no support or documentation from Apple, are beautiful as they use the functionality exposed by the phone to the programmers doing this work. That means, both the apps that come with the phone and the third party ones are all of exceptionally high quality."

This contrasts with your "rationalization" of why Apple breaking 3rd part apps in the 1.1.1 update is ok... ;-)
